Total refund - after 30 minutes of arguing, pleading, threatening, pleading . .

. DON'T GIVE UP!

Original review posted by user Jan 04, 2018

A few weeks before Christmas, I received a heavy box of Keranique hair treatment products, advertised as a "free" sample. I let the package sit unopened until after Christmas, when I gave it to a friend to try.

When I reviewed my checking account online, there was a $79.00 charge from Keranique.

I called Keranique and was informed by a sales representative that it wasn't a "free" sample after all, the small print in the offer stated that "I had to inform them within 30 days that I didn't want the product." In order to erase the $79 charge, I have to return the package in the state in which it was received, i.e., unused (products unopened) to an address in PA by January 18 with the original invoice. The postage for this heavy package is to be paid by me.

Reason of review: Not a "free" sample; unauthorized charge.

Monetary Loss: $79.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

As with most of these scams, it's very easy to see the "free sample" but unless you thoroughly read everything, ie., the fine print you will see that "free" comes with certain restrictions and obligations for you to comply with. Make sure you are not signed up for automatic monthly shipments, etc.

and consider this as a modestly expensive learning experience. But, since you apparently---and unwisely---gave them access to your bank account, make sure you will not be on the hook for future deliveries.
